HOLISTIC

Supporting the Health & Wellbeing of Women and Children in the Peak District.

Hello.

I'm Charlotte: Mum & Reflexologist.  Since the birth of my first child I've been passionate about Holistic healthcare, I found it fascinating that our bodies are often able to heal themselves with the right tools. So I decided to train to become a qualified Reflexologist which would enable me to help others to feel well, naturally.

What is Reflexology?

It is a non-invasive treatment suitable for everyone from newborn and up. This complementary therapy can help promote deep relaxation and reduce stress, based on the theory that different points on the hands and feet correspond with different areas of the body and when those areas are worked, balance is restored. Reflexology won't cure your condition but it will enable your body's own self-healing mechanism to function as well as it can.  By applying specialised massage techniques using the thumbs, fingers and knuckles, energy blockages can be cleared. After just one session you will feel rebalanced.

As a Reflexologist, I cannot diagnose your ailments. If you are unwell, it is important you seek help from a medical professional. However, reflexology treatments can help with certain ailments and conditions once they are diagnosed.

For more information, please feel free to contact me. I post lots of information on the benefits of Reflexology and how it may help different conditions over on my Instagram and Facebook pages.

My treatment room is based in the beautiful village of Youlgrave, not far from Bakewell.

Reflexology is not a cure for symptoms or illness. Rather, reflexology supports the body's ability to heal itself.

At the initial treatment, a full consultation and history will be taken. Your feet (or hands - your preference) will then be massaged using an organic reflexology wax while you relax under a blanket. I can provide you with an eye mask (or you can bring your own) if you'd like to use one, you will be free to rest or snooze and if you prefer, the music can be switched off.

If your child is receiving a treatment, I will always ask their permission before starting.

They can choose their own music, ask any questions while I treat them, read a book or simply sit quietly and relax. Whatever they feel comfortable doing. This is a great time for you to relax, too. Bring a book or sit back and enjoy some downtime.

I recommend wearing comfortable clothing and will only ever ask you to remove your shoes and socks (unless you're having facial reflexology). Please don't worry if your feet aren't perfectly manicured, Reflexologists are only interested in how your feet or hands feel, not if your nails are painted! I ask that you come make-up free if you're having a treatment on your face.

How many treatments will I need?

Reflexology has a cumulative effect meaning the more treatments you have, the greater the effects likely to be experienced. A course of treatments is recommended and many people find it beneficial to have 4-6 sessions weekly or fortnightly, followed by 'maintenance' sessions once a month. You can also book sessions individually.

How can I book?

You can contact me via my website, on Instagram or Facebook, via email, or the old-fashioned way, by calling! Details are at the bottom of this page.

Where can I park?

There is space outside of my property or there is a public car park a 2-minute walk away (small donation required) if you'd like to explore the lovely village before your treatment (I highly recommend both bakeries, they have pastries and brownies galore!)

What shall I wear?

Loose, comfortable clothing. If possible, I need to access your lower legs. You will be asked to remove your socks and shoes only.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

I do! You can have them for any denomination or for whatever number of treatments you'd like to gift. They can be emailed or a physical voucher can be sent.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

I ask that you give me at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel your appointment to allow me to try and fill your slot. I understand that on the day of your appointment, you may feel unwell and it's something you can't predict so will need to cancel. However, if you are a serial canceller(!), I will ask for a 50% deposit to secure your next appointment.

Google review

"I'm a new convert to reflexology after having a couple of treatments with Charlotte. I find it imcredible relaxing and has already helped with symptoms I was experiencing. Highly recommend to anyone seeking a new approach to wellbeing and self care. Charlotte is very knowledgeable and will put you at ease immediately."

Google review

"A very relaxing experience from the minute I walked into the ambient treatment room with amazing results. After suffering perimenopausal night time pins and needles and numbness for the last two years waking 4-5 times a night regardless of being on hrt, after 1 treatment with Charlotte I am now sleeping through the night like a baby. I cannot recommend her session enough."

Client feedback

"What magic have you done on my daughter this evening? I've never known her to be so calm and quiet in the evening, she's completely relaxed."
